Analysing shots- "titanic"

This is a birds eye view shot of The actress hanging over the edge of the ship, by angling the camera like this it shows the audience how the character would be seeing what she is doing and then also you are looking down on her which makes you feel important and her inferior.

An over the shoulder shot is used to create the sense that the audience is seeing what is happening from the characters perspective, almost making the audience feel emotionally involved as if they are there.

Using a Long shot is good in this film because you can see what the main focus is and where it is and what is being filmed.

A wide mid shot is used here showing the waist upwards of multiple characters, however where Kate is posistioned in front of the others it shows her importance.

Extreme close up- conveys the emotion well as the audience are looking into the eyes of the character, she looks as if she is sad and reminiscing about something.

The Mise-on-scene helps to convey the importance of the scene with the characters in the medium close up.

Extreme long shot- showing the entire scene, a close up of the life boat and then the rescue ship arriving in the distance.

A low angle shot makes the characters look important and the audience feel inferior to them- could be referring to their social status?

High angle shot- by looking down on the little boy it makes him look inferior, intimidated and scared. This shot was taken when the ship was starting to sink so that represents to as why he looks the way he does.

A close up shot on the character allows us to only focus on him and what we can see by his face, there is a very plain background and not a lot going on.

Another example of an extreme long shot- showing all the scenery and the trail the boat leaves, all the audience can tell is that its headed into further ocean.

A two shot- focusing close up on two characters in the scene instead of one, showing there relationship more clearly.

Me and the Media!

WHY CHOOSE MEDIA?
I chose media because I have always had an interest in looking more into Films, Music and TV. I love reading and analysing media because it gives you a better idea of what’s going on in the world and the different ways you can look at it.
I am good with computers also and love using Photoshop and thought this would be a good chance to use it while having fun as well.

My other subjects...

Ed Sheeran has got to be one of my favourite artists because he is so unique and his music always varies in its style.

The vampire Diaires is my favourite because it has everything in it; drama, romance action and thrills!

My favourite director would be have to be Stephen Spielberg as he has directed so many memorable films, the greatest he has directed would be 'Schindlers List' because the film is based on one of the most iconic events in history.

"Fashions fade, style is eternal" - Yves Saint Laurent

Mtv news website always has alot of news do with celebrities, music, films and television proggrames and its an easy way to see it all as its all in one place!
